This Upper Mustang trek has always transmitted a quality of sentiment. It is the bone-dry region toward the end of the Kali Gandaki, past the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. Lower Mustang is possessed by peoples identified with the Manangis. Whilst in Northern Mustang (the old hidden Kingdom of Lo), dialect and societies are simply Tibetan with a rich and complex history, collected records date back to the eighth century.

Lo, as Dolpo, was at one time a piece of the western Tibetan area of Ngari and kept up its status as a different principality until 1951. It is a place where there are barley fields and buckwheat field. Immense spreads of gray and yellow heartbreaking slopes disintegrated by the wind that wails over the zone most afternoon. Sun heated blocks of pale mud are utilized for all development, including the walls and royal residence of Upper Mustang. The hidden kingdom of Lo Manthang.
